How to Start [Something, That Thing, Anything]

How to Start [Something, That Thing, Anything]

When you are yearning to break out in your business, a new career, or a fresh degree, it seems as though every minute of your day suddenly becomes booked. And it’s usually not with fun stuff. What comes into play more and more are those responsibilities you have outside of your dreams, whether it's everyday life or the "actual business" part of your dream. Seriously, I have to juggle ten things and find wiggle time in my schedule to accomplish anything these days (even updating this blog). And, guess what, it only gets worse as life goes on... just wrap a relationship, kids, and outside obligations into the mix and now it's a real party.

That’s why it's essential to strategize in order to prioritize your tasks and compartmentalize your day. Period. Here is how you “start” the first 5 steps.

1. Wake up early; “early" is subjective, but for me that means 5:00 am.

2. Brew a cup of strong coffee to boost your brain power.

3. Grab your planner or even just some paper & pen and start prioritizing your day.

4.  Start with the most difficult task/project to tackle first.  Usually, this is research in the topic of interest. What is the thing that you love doing, making, eating, or creating?  If you are one of the lucky few who already know this, then by all means carry on.

5. Invest in yourself; read, read, and read, anything you can find on the subject you love. By the way, finding out the thing you want to do with your life’s purpose is one of the most difficult things to nail down.  Think about all those college grads who are still trying to figure out their own niche in the professional world while rocking superstar Barista skills at your local coffee house.

Here is the best part of starting; I guarantee if you just implement this one itty-bitty habit into your daily routine, you will no doubt start to see your “start” take shape and take off!
